A group of Congress leaders, led by Banavase Rangaswamy, who contested Assembly polls on Congress ticket, has come down on K.N. The Minister had not shown interest in strengthening the party in the district, he alleged at a press conference in Hassan on Friday. Mr. Rajanna, he said, was engaged in causing damage to the party by planning dinner meetings of legislators in Bengaluru instead of strengthening the party organisation. This shows the Minister’s negligence towards the party organisation in the district,” Mr. Rangaswamy said. Further, he said the Chief Minister should replace Mr. Rajanna with someone else as Minister in charge of Hassan district; otherwise, he and his supporters would launch a protest.
