Why Stars’ Ryan Suter is off to a good start, plus a new pairing and a bad penalty

Sample size is tricky. “If you’re going to play with Miro, you have to be be a smart player and you have to complement him,” Stars head coach Pete DeBoer said. Suter is still second on the Stars in time on ice, something that’s bound to happen given him being on a pairing with Heiskanen. DeBoer has already reduced Suter’s ice time by taking him off of the power play but there’s potential to shave minutes down even more. If Suter’s able to maintain his level of play, or even close to it, and Harley and Lundkvist mesh as a pairing, the Stars suddenly have something going for their top-four this season.
