The most important tick-borne diseases that affect dogs are Lyme disease, Ehrlichiosis, Anaplasmosis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Babesiosis, Bartonellosis, and Hepatozoonosis. "It is very difficult to completely prevent or avoid ticks on pet animals and hence it is of prime importance to understand some of the tick-borne diseases, signs, and their prevention. Major symptoms include fever, low appetite, and low blood platelets, often noted by nose bleeding or other signs of bruising or anaemia.
