But now that the teaser has been released, and bootlegged online, multiple theories are being floated on the internet, the most intriguing of which suggests that the film is a secret sequel to Nolan’s 2010 blockbuster, Inception. A Hollywood Reporter story suggests that several details, such as the film’s tagline, its enigmatic premise, and whatever little could be gleaned from the one-minute teaser, seem to suggest that the film is set in the same universe as Inception. It is Nolan’s most expensive original film, its reported $225 million price tag eclipsing Inception’s $185 million budget.
