How does MBA help you gain skills and industry insights?
Post Graduate programmes have surged into much popularity as individuals wish for an additional badge on his/her profile. Main focus of an MBA When I started my programme, I assumed industries expect good communication skills from graduates, but half- way through, I realised that main focus lies on the case studies, projects that we work on and how we are able to achieve real time practice, as businesses and organisations are facing lot of disputes and looking for candidates who are able to apply real time practice to find solutions. Interactive experience Another benefit from a full time programme is the interactive experience -- you get to meet your peers coming from diverse background, industry stalwarts, leaders and faculties over various conferences, workshops, management fests and competitions. The curriculum should emphasis on experiential learning, leadership programme that will enable you to analyze and solve complex problems across emerging and changing markets. Do consider things such as faculty quality, research developments, electives available, international accreditation and the B school's reputation in its overall ranking Get to know if the school offers learning on real issues in the business world today apart from theoretical point of study Be sure of what business management entails Be sure if you want to change industry or move into a different role/function in your existing organisation Take enough time to identify your options, only then it will help you make the most informed decision Read: The Maternity Bill: How will it impact employees, employers and hiring trends?
