We won’t use private healthcare, say Labour shadow ministers

Labour frontbenchers have insisted they would not use private healthcare after Sir Keir Starmer ruled out doing so. It comes after Sir Keir said he would not use private healthcare even if he had a relative stuck on the NHS waiting list for life-saving care. Asked during Tuesday’s TV debate whether he would turn to private care in such a scenario, the Labour leader replied: “No, I don’t use private health. I use the NHS.” It comes as an increasing number of Britons have been turning to private healthcare to avoid lengthening waiting lists for NHS treatment.
