PM Modi railway projects: Time not far for first bullet to run in India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who virtually inaugurated the new Jammu Railway Division on Monday, said J&K’s integration into the national railway network was “a monumental step”. “Integration of J&K into the national railway network is a monumental step towards transforming the Indian Railways into a global leader in efficiency, speed, and passenger experience,” Mr. Modi said, whilst also virtually inaugurating railway projects for Telangana and Odisha. “This is just the beginning as the time is not far when the first bullet train will run in the country,” Mr. Modi said, underlining that India has 1,000 km of metro rail services. “This landmark decision holds immense strategic importance and will drive economic growth, generate employment, strengthen infrastructure, and unlock new opportunities for tourism in J&K,” Mr. Sinha said.
