Trump’s Truth Social launches on Apple’s App Store, with glitches
Live MintDonald Trump’s social-networking platform, Truth Social, has gone live in the U.S., but some would-be users reported being unable to create an account or received error messages when trying to do so. Still, the Twitter-like app owned by Trump Media & Technology Group, was top of Apple Inc.’s App Store’s free apps chart early Tuesday after becoming available to download Monday. Trump Media & Technology Group, the company Mr. Trump set up shortly after leaving office in 2021, didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. In December, Trump Media & Technology Group named former Republican Rep. Devin Nunes, a longtime ally of Mr. Trump, as chief executive of the social-media venture. Twitter Inc. banned Mr. Trump’s personal account in January 2021, citing the risk of further incitement of violence following the attack on the U.S. Capitol by a mob of his followers just days before.
