BRS demands resurvey of castes, terms recent exercise as pack of lies

HYDERABAD The Bharat Rashtra Samithi has demanded that the Congress government in Telangana re-conduct the caste census, stating that it was carried out in haste to deceive the Backward Classes and that is the reason the BC population has been shown less. Mr. Rama Rao pointed out that the State government had reduced the BC population by about 5.5%, when compared to their population enumerated with the help of integrated household survey conducted by the BRS government in 2014. The BRS working president reminded the government that it was the Congress leadership that had pledged to implement 42% reservations for BCs, not just in local bodies but also in education and employment, as stated in its Kamareddy BC Declaration. He also pointed out that during the Assembly election campaign, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had promised a ₹1 lakh crore budget and a BC Sub-Plan.
