First light combat aircraft to be handed over to Air Force today in Bengaluru
India TodayThe Hindustan Aeronautics Limited will hand over the first Light Combat Aircraft twin-seater trainer version aircraft to the Indian Air Force in Bengaluru on Wednesday. As part of the LCA contract between the HAL and the IAF, the defence public sector unit has to supply eight twin-seater trainer aircraft to the force. The event will be attended by notable figures including the Minister of State for Defence, IAF chief Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, and HAL Chairman CB Ananthakrishnan. The LCA - Tejas MK 1 A - is equipped with an indigenously developed Active Electronically Scanned Array radar, Beyond Visual Range Missile, modern Electronic Warfare Suite, and Air-to-Air Refuelling capabilities, making it a formidable addition to the IAF's fleet.
