Colts release QB Matt Ryan, per source: Why Indy let him go

The Colts released quarterback Matt Ryan on Tuesday, a league source confirmed to The Athletic. By cutting him now, Indianapolis saves the entire amount in cap space while Ryan still walks away with $18 million which will count against the team’s dead cap.
