Fact-Check: No, Disneyland Did Not Ban Screaming on Roller Coasters due to Covid-19

News 18

After a year-long break from merriment and joy, Disneyland theme park in California is all set to open up once again. As the list was released, many news organisations reported that the park was going to ban screaming on rides like the roller coaster to limit or prevent coronavirus transmission. Many news websites miscommunicated the contents of the notice to mean the park was going to ban screaming or yelling on roller-coaster rides. To clear up some confusing reports in the press…At no point has CAPA recommended limiting or prohibiting yelling or screaming on amusement park rides as a way to mitigate transmission of COVID-19. March 19, 2021 Once the media outlets started to translate this directive as a “screaming ban”, the CAPA released a statement on Twitter clarifying that nowhere in the document is a ban on screaming listed.
