Ranji Trophy: Prithvi Shaw continues resurgence with 379, misses out on a well-deserved quadruple hundred

Prithvi Shaw continued his resurgence and fine run in the Ranji trophy for Mumbai as the opener scored 379 runs against Assam and unfortunately missed out on a well-deserved quadruple hundred on Wednesday. Shaw had made a big statement on Tuesday when he ended Day One of the fifth round Ranji trophy match unbeaten on a career-best 240 from just 283 balls. Shaw would then go past Sanjay Manjrekar's 377, which was the highest score by a Mumbai batter, and broke the 32-year-old record with his 379 runs against Assam. Mumbai are currently 598 for the loss of three wickets in the Ranji trophy fifth round match and still have captain Ajinkya Rahanae unbeaten on 131 runs from 252 deliveries.
