Why Modi government wants to set up PM Shri Schools
India TodayOn June 2, during the National Conference of School Education Ministers in Gandhinagar, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan officially accepted what has been known since the introduction of the National Education Policy in July 2020. As per the new 5+3+3+4 school education system outlined in the NEP, children will spend five years in the foundational stage, three years in the preparatory stage, another three years in the middle stage and four years in the secondary stage. The focus of the three years of middle stage will be critical learning, which is a big shift from the rote learning methods used earlier. Pradhan urged the states and the education ecosystem to share their feedback to make a futuristic benchmark standard in the form of PM Shri Schools.
