BMC allows flyers to travel in personal vehicle from airport to quarantine centre

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has decided to allow flyers to travel in their private vehicles from the airport to the quarantine centre. In case, they do not report and check in to the selected quarantine centre, strict action according to the provisions of 'The Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897', 'The Disaster Management Act, 2005' and other relevant legal provisions shall be initiated." "All the concerned Asstt Commissioner / MOH shall verify as to whether the passengers allowed to travel by private vehicle have actually reported and checked-in the selected quarantine centre," the order said. "In case the passenger does not report and check in to the selected quarantine centre, strict action as per the provision of The Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and The Disaster Management Act, 2005 and other relevant legal provisions shall be initiated by concerned Asstt.. Commissioner of MCGM," it said. The BMC order further says passengers travelling in BEST buses will be dropped at various hotel quarantine centres and thus, delay in dropping the last destination passenger may happen.
