Why Maharashtra is giving government school curriculum a CBSE touch

The Maharashtra government has decided that all schools affiliated to the state’s board will adopt a curriculum on the lines of the Central Board of School Education. Officials said the move was intended to ensure that students under the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education can study an upgraded curriculum that prepares them for competitive exams. Dadaji Bhuse, minister of school education, said the state board schools will adopt the CBSE’s academic pattern.
