One year of NEP 2020: 14 engineering colleges to teach in Indian languages

In a major initiative to promote teaching-learning in the mother tongue, 14 engineering colleges of 8 states will begin imparting education in 5 Indian languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Bangla. These were among the announcements that Prime Minister Narendra Modi made on Thursday as he spoke on the National Education Policy one year after it was readied. Noting the significance of the year ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the Prime Minister said that the new Education Policy will play a major role in this important period. Education in mother tongue The Prime Minister informed that 14 engineering colleges of 8 states are starting to impart education in 5 Indian languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and Bangla.
