YSRC complains to SEC on by-poll violence

Vijayawada:A delegation of YSR Congress leaders led by Lella Appireddy called on state election commissioner Nilam Sawhney here on Monday to complain about electoral violence, mainly in Tuni. He slammed the TD for making all-out efforts to win there by “influencing the voters.” Appireddy was critical of the imposition of Section 30 of Police Act allegedly aimed at controlling the YSR Congress leaders and supporters planning a march. “Hundreds of TD supporters blocked the road when YSRC organised a ‘Chalo Tuni’ march to protect democracy,” he said. “We urged the election commissioner to take necessary steps to ensure that the bypolls are held in a peaceful manner,” he said.
