Scooping the history of ice cream

The story begins in China during the Tang Dynasty, around 618 to 907 AD. Moving across the globe, the frozen dessert reached Italy where people made ice cream with milk, cream & sugar, just as we know it, and they called it ‘gelato’. This is how ice cream arrived in India and got its own traditional name ‘kulfi’ which is different from regular ice cream - sweeter, thicker and creamier. The invention of ice cream machine An American woman, Nancy Johnson, helped the world to make ice cream at home. She invented the hand-cranked ice cream maker which wasn’t just a machine but a new beginning for ice cream - smoother & creamier.
