Apple disables AI summaries for news temporarily

Apple has temporarily paused its AI news summary feature after multiple complaints of inaccurate headlines. In December, BBC complained about false news headlines saying Luigi Mangione, who is charged with the death of the UnitedHealthcare CEO, had shot himself. In another instance, in November, it sent a notification from NYT saying that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had been arrested which is not true. More recently, a WSJ journalist said news notifications from the outlet on Pete Hegseth and Pam Bondi were incorrectly summarised.
