Cyclone Gulab could cross over to Arabian Sea to be reborn as Cyclone Shaheen
India TodayCyclone Gulab, which weakened into a deep depression over Telangana, South Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha region since Monday night, may move to the Arabian Sea and be reborn as Cyclone Shaheen. The Indian Meteorological Department has said in a fresh bulletin, “It is likely that the remnant of the present deep depression could emerge into Northeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Gujarat coast around 30th September” The weather department has further warned, “ there is a likelihood for the system to further intensify over Northeast Arabian Sea during the subsequent 24 hours.” Rare Phenomenon The IMD has also said that the probability of the formation of a depression over the Arabian Sea is “moderate” in the next 96-120 hours. Reports have said over the next 24 hours, the depression system could intensify move towards Oman after entering the Arabian Sea and form into Cyclone Shaheen. Impact of Cyclone Gulab Meanwhile, heavy rains pounded several parts of Telangana even as Cyclone Gulab weakened into a deep depression.
