Unauthorised boards in Secretariat: HC slams govt. for not informing about disciplinary action against KSEA office-bearers

The Kerala High Court on Thursday criticised the State government for not explaining about the disciplinary proceedings proposed against the president and secretary of the Kerala Secretariat Employees Association for putting up a huge board in front of the Secretariat in connection with the inauguration of the association building. When the cases against the erection of illegal boards, banners, and festoons in public places came up for hearing, Justice Devan Ramachandran observed that the affidavit filed by the Additional Chief Secretary is completely silent as to whether the government viewed the actions of the office-bearers of the union to be disciplinary violation. Other incidents The court directed the the State Police Chief to launch an investigation through a competent officer into the incidents in which the employees of the Kanhangad Municipality werethreatened by some people while they were removingunauthorised boards, banners, and festoons etc and file a report. The court also directed the Kochi Corporation Secretary to inform the court about the action taken in respect to the erection of unauthorised boards at Thammanam Junction by the Thammanam Merchants’ Association.
