Minor Girl Trafficked From Bangladesh Kidnaps Accused's Child To Save Her Mother, Aunt From Prostitution

A 17-year-old girl was nabbed by the Mandapa police in Mumbai after she kidnapped a 4-year-old boy in a bid to protect herself and her family from a prostitution racket. Investigation into the matter revealed that the child’s father was allegedly involved in selling the girl who hailed from Bangladesh along with her mother and aunt into prostitution. Police sources said that a complaint was lodged on Friday night at the Manpada police station by a 27-year-old man from Khoni area of Dombivli about his 4-year-old child being kidnapped by a woman. Upon further probe, the Bhiwandi Crime Branch found that she was a minor and she revealed that she had kidnapped the child so that she could save her mother and aunt from the child’s father. The girl was later handed over to the Manpada police for further investigation, following which the accused, the child’s father was arrested and booked for human trafficking and POCSO.
