Read our privacy policy There has been much speculation surrounding the introduction of X-Men and Fantastic Four to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ever since Kevin Feige’s Comic-Con announcement in 2019. “MCU’s Fantastic Four and X-Men will be primarily based on their Earth-1610 counterparts,” he wrote on Twitter, which means that the two factions would be introduced as part of the multiverse – a convenient way of explaining their absence so far. Should this be the way Marvel proceeds, bosses will be able to say they planned this the entire time thanks to a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it background detail in 2011’s Thor: The Dark World. Wardell – who has a good track record when it comes to leaking huge MCU plot points – claims that John Krasinski is being circled for a lead role – possibly Reed Richards, the Fantastic Four’s leader – with Breaking Bad villain Giancarlo Esposito also wanted for a key part.
