Rupee ends little changed at 83.18 against the US dollar
Live MintThe Indian rupee ended little changed against the US dollar on Wednesday amid selloff in domestic equity markets and a stronger American currency overseas. However, softening crude oil prices and some buying by foreign equity investors, supported the Indian currency, forex dealers said. On the domestic front, the benchmark equity indices ended in the negative territory for the fifth consecutive session on Wednesday amid mixed global cues as concerns over the ongoing Israel-Hamas war keep investors nervous about riskier equities while unimpressive Q2 earnings and gains in US Treasury yields also weighed on sentiment. On Monday, the Foreign institutional investors net bought Indian shares worth ₹252.25 crore, while Domestic Institutional Investors net purchased shares to the tune of ₹1,111.84 crore, as per provisional data available on the exchanges.
