Cabinet told to force Theresa May to drop Chequers plan or she will face no confidence vote 'within days'
The TelegraphTory Eurosceptics are threatening to force a no confidence vote in Theresa May's leadership within days if ministers do not persuade her to drop her Chequers Brexit plan, The Telegraph can disclose. It comes after Cabinet ministers including Dominic Raab, Jeremy Hunt, Michael Gove, Penny Mordaunt, Chris Grayling, Liz Truss and Geoffrey Cox met for a pizza in the office of Andrea Leadsom last night. Members of the European Research Group are now privately telling Eurosceptic Cabinet ministers that unless they can force Mrs May to change tack on her Chequers proposal, she will face a no confidence vote this week or next. One ERG source said: “If the Cabinet does not chuck Chequers I think we will have a vote of no confidence … by this week, next week.
