Again, though, it was movement from a Barcelona midfielder that dragged one of Madrid’s holding midfielders out of position, opening space for Cubarsi to find that dangerous pass into Lewandowski. The first logical step, then, is to remove one of the four attacking players to form a more stable midfield base against stronger sides — but that is easier said than done, given the quality, status and goalscoring form of each member of Madrid’s front line.
