DCA seizes medicines with misleading claims to treat kidney stones, fever

Hyderabad: Telangana Drugs Control Administration detected certain medicines circulating in the market at Dundigal and Hanumakonda with misleading claims on their labels, stating that they treat kidney stones - Renal Calculi and Urethral Calculi’ and fever. Such claims were in contravention of the Drugs and Magic Remedies Act-1954 prohibiting Advertising a medicine for the treatment of ‘Kidney Stones - Renal Calculi and Urethral Calculi’ and ‘Fever’ is prohibited under Drugs and Magic Remedies Act-1954. Persons who make misleading DCA Director-General, VB Kamalasan Reddy said the public may report any suspected manufacturing activity related to drugs, including narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, in residential, commercial, or industrial areas, as well as any other complaints regarding illegal activities concerning medicines, through DCA toll-free number 1800-599-6969, which is operational from 10.30 am to 5 pm on all working days
