BSNL stops prepaid mode of payment for DSL broadband plans, will migrate existing users to postpaid offers

Government-owned telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited rolled out some changes where its broadband plans are concerned. Prepaid users had more control over their prepaid broadband plans including mobility, control on internet charges, and sharing of DSL broadband connections. The plans started from Rs 200 per month and BSNL’s prepaid broadband customers could use their broadband account anywhere in the country and also could share it with people using broadband connections. The telco has decided to move users to postpaid broadband plans since there were not many customers who opted for the prepaid broadband service. BSNL has directed telecom circles to migrate existing prepaid DSL broadband customers to postpaid plans by transferring existing prepaid account balance as credit in their postpaid accounts.
