“Hard work is essential, but not the donkey’s work people often refer to. The journey is about consistency and resilience,” said Saidulu Adavath, Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Division, Bengaluru, while addressing UPSC aspirants at a guest lecture organised by The Hindu Civil Services Aspirants’ Club, in association with Shankar IAS Academy on Thursday. A 2016-batch IPS officer from the Karnataka cadre, Mr. Adavath delivered a speech highlighting the values of hard work, resilience, and ambition in civil service preparation. Sharing his personal journey, Mr. Adavath recounted his beginnings from a farming family in Nalgonda district, Telangana. Highlighting economic inequality in India, Mr. Adavath noted that 80% of India’s wealth is owned by 20% of the people.
