Cold wave, dense fog warning in Delhi, north India ahead of New Year
India TodayAs the rainy spell subsides, Delhi and its neighbouring regions are gearing up for a significant shift in weather patterns. The India Meteorological Department has forecasted a period of very dense fog and a cold wave that will engulf the region in the coming days, persisting through the New Year festivities. According to the weather department, there's an expected dip in minimum temperatures by 3-4°C across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Rajasthan over the next three days, stabilising thereafter. Similarly, central India is likely to experience a 3-5°C decrease following 24 hours of steadiness, while east India may see a drop of 3-4°C over the next three days. Isolated areas of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan are expected to experience severe cold wave conditions between December 30 and January 2.
