New York woman played her husband their wedding song on FaceTime as he passed away from coronavirus

CNN — Maura Lewinger says her husband, Joe, wrote her love letters every morning and left them in her lunch box. Joe had no pre-existing conditions and he started out with “mild symptoms,” Lewinger told CNN Friday, that included a low-grade fever. In the days before Joe’s death, Lewinger told CNN the two “pretty much spent 24/7 on FaceTime, trying to mediate and calm him, trying not to let him feel alone.” “The country is getting used to remote learning and we had to get used to virtual caregiving and virtual marriage in just being there for each other,” she said. When doctors told Lewinger her husband’s breathing was getting worse and that he was on three different blood pressure medications, she requested to speak with Joe on Facetime. “I thanked him for being the most amazing husband, for making me feel cherished and loved every single day,” Lewinger said she told her husband.
