India TodayTwo Indian Navy officers participating in an operational demonstration rehearsal had a narrow escape yesterday when their parachutes became entangled during the descent, causing them to plunge into the water at Rama Krishna Beach in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The mishap occurred during preparations for the Eastern Naval Command’s grand Operational Demonstration, set to take place today with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as the chief guest. The highly anticipated Operational Demonstration will showcase the Indian Navy’s advanced capabilities through a series of choreographed activities, including high-speed manoeuvres by warships, flying operations by fighters, helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft, amphibious assaults, live slithering operations, and Combat Free Fall by MARCOS. The event will also feature unique displays like the Horn Pipe Dance by the Sea Cadets Corps and the Beating Retreat Ceremony by the ENC band, offering a glimpse into the Navy’s discipline and versatility.
