Advocate moves court seeking direction to police to take action against Seeman for remarks against Periyar

An advocate from Madurai on Friday moved the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court seeking a direction to the Anna Nagar police in Madurai to receive his complaint and take necessary action against Naam Tamilar Katchi Chief Coordinator Seeman for his remarks against Social Reformer ‘Periyar’ E.V. Nagar said that Mr. Seeman passed derogatory remarks against Periyar on January 9. Even after lodging a complaint in person, they refused to receive the complaint, he said and sought a direction to the police to receive his complaint and take necessary action. The Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the police complaint was lodged on the morning of January 10 and appropriate steps would be taken.
