Bus operators fined on charges of permit rule violations

The Regional Transport Authority has fined the operators of 14 private buses on the Kozhikode-Wayanad route on charges of violating permit rules. According to Transport department officials, 13 bus operators who violated permit rules and fixed time schedules were from Wayanad district. In the preliminary inspection, the RTA found that private bus operators had violated the terms and conditions on the nationalised route where the permit was granted to private operators with restrictions. Meanwhile, the private bus operators said they would fight the issue legally.
