Mitchell Johnson reveals 'personal' message from David Warner that prompted scathing attack
Mitchell Johnson added that he could have avoided the ball-tampering part in his David Warner column but asserted that whatever he wrote was his views. Mitchell Johnson has explained that a message from David Warner which was ‘quite personal’ led to the former pacer launching a scathing attack on the Australian opener. Johnson had written that Warner didn’t deserve such a send-off as he “never really owned the ball-tampering scandal” in Cape Town in 2018. On The Mitchell Johnson Cricket Show podcast, the former Australian cricketer said he received a “disappointing” message from Warner earlier this year in response to the former fast bowler’s column questioning Warner’s wife Candice Warner publicly defending the opener’s place in the Test squad.
