Jamia faculty wins 2019 Asian Studies Visiting Fellowship in Washington DC
India TodayDr Sujata Ashwarya, Associate Professor in the Centre for West Asian Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, has been awarded the prestigious 2019 Asian Studies Visiting Fellowship at the East-West Centre, Washington DC, to pursue research on India's energy security. Aim of fellowship Her period of residency in Washington DC, which is July through September 2019, includes the responsibility to publish an article in the EWCW Asia Pacific Bulletin series, a public seminar on her topic of research, and submission of a policy paper for the East-West Centre's Policy Studies series. Her research interests include the politics of energy, India's West Asia policy, politics and foreign policy of Iran and Israel and issues relating to democratization in the region. About JMI Jamia Millia Islamia, an institution originally established at Aligarh in United Provinces, India in 1920 became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988.
