Andhra Pradesh Govt. Prevented 780 Child Marriages, Says Minister Sandhyarani

Vijayawada: The TDP-led NDA alliance government has prevented 780 child marriages in special drives organised from July 2024 onwards, women, child and tribal welfare Minister Gummidi Sandhyarani has underlined. The minister said 80,194 growth monitoring devices worth Rs 10.18 crore have been procured to track children's nutritional status. Rs 4.76 crore have been released for procuring 34,66,790 Early Childhood Care and Education books, aimed at enhancing literacy and numeracy skills among children aged between 3–6 years. Sandhyarani said 139 new AWCs have been launched under PM JANMAN to improve living conditions of vulnerable tribal groups in districts like Alluri Sitarama Raju, Eluru, Manyam and Srikakulam.
