All set for the Invitation Cup weekend

The HPSL Royal Arion Indian Turf Invitation Cup weekend races, Indian racing’s most prestigious and glamorous event, will be held at the fabled Guindy Race Course here on March 1 and 2. At a glitzy function here on Thursday, trophies worth ₹29,60,000 were unveiled by the Madras Race Club chairman Muthiah Ramaswamy and Suresh Paladugu, the CMD of HPSL Private Ltd. which is the principal sponsor for the gala event. The carnival of racing will start on Saturday with the running of Zavaray S. Poonawalla Sprinters Cup and the Coromandel Gromor Stayers Cup. On Sunday, there will be two Grade-I races and one Grade-II race that includes the Major P. K. Mehra Memorial Super Mile, “It’s an honour and privilege of Madras Race Club to host the Invitation Cup in its 63rd year and we will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the weekend will be special and remain in memory in the years to come,” said Mr. Muthiah while welcoming the gathering and thanking the sponsors.
