Shifting capital from Amaravati impossible: Yanamala
Deccan ChronicleKAKINADA: Former finance minister and Telugu Desam senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Sunday asserted that constitutionally, it is impossible to shift the capital of Andhra Pradesh from Amaravati. Addressing a round table meeting on “Amaravati is the Capital” in Kakinada on Sunday, Ramakrishnudu pointed out that the Andhra Pradesh High Court has given its verdict in favour of Amaravati farmers. Presiding over the round table meeting, JAC chairman Siva said Amaravati farmers have sacrificed their lands in the interests of developing Andhra Pradesh. Former home minister Nimmakayala China Rajappa, Rajamahendravaram Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary, former MLAs Jyothula Nehru, Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao and Bandaru Satyananda Rao, and leaders of CPI, CPM and Jana Sena participated in the round table meeting.
