No need to drag Speaker and Assembly into issue, says Shamseer

Shamseer on Wednesday said that the Speaker and the Assembly need not be dragged into the fight between the State government and P.V. Mr. Anvar, who was then MLA, had in January 2024 levelled corruption charges against Opposition Leader V.D. Mr. Shamseer said on Wednesday that Mr. Anvar had sought prior permission as mandated by the rules and procedures of the House to level an allegation. Mr. Anvar had alleged that IT companies outside the State had paid ₹ 150 crore to Mr. Satheesan to sabotage the Silver Line semi-high speed rail project. After resigning as MLA, Mr. Anvar contended that he had levelled the allegation in the House at the insistence of Chief Minister’s political secretary P. Sasi.
