Sundar Pichai learnt Hindi in school: BJP fires back at DMK amid language row
India TodayAs the language controversy rages in Tamil Nadu, state BJP chief K Annamalai referenced Madurai-born Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai to slam the ruling DMK for their opposition to the National Education Policy and its Hindi imposition charge. In a long post, the BJP leader called out Tamil Nadu Minister PTR Thyagarajan and his DMK colleagues for "allowing their children or grandchildren" to learn three languages in schools while compelling government students to learn only two. "Additionally, Google CEO Thiru Sundar Pichai studied three languages in his school, including Hindi, contrary to your claim," Annamalai's tweet, tagging PTR Thyagarajan, read. The language row has sparked a political flashpoint between the BJP and DMK, which was reinforced by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday after he called the NEP a "saffronised policy".
