Fake IPS Officer Arrested in Patna: Accused of Harassing Shopkeepers and Extorting Money

ABP News

A man named Vipul Paswan has been arrested in Patna for impersonating a police officer and harassing local residents. Paswan, originally from Bahadurpur in Darbhanga district, was found in a rented accommodation in Sorangpur, Ramkrishna Nagar. He allegedly harassed shopkeepers and residents, extorted money, and threatened those who questioned his authority. The police confirmed that Paswan had no official standing and that the uniform was purely for deception. The arrest comes on the heels of another incident in Jamui, Bihar, where 18-year-old Mithilesh Majhi was arrested for posing as an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. The police are investigating how Paswan obtained the uniform and what his motives were.
