Telangana allocates ₹4,305 crore to TGSRTC

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation has been allocated ₹4,305 crore. Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka in his budget speech waxed eloquent about the Mahalaxmi Scheme, which provides free bus rides to women and transgenders. He pointed out that beneficiaries of this scheme have availed 149.63 crore trips aboard 7,227 buses free of charge. According to budget documents released by the Telangana government, as much as ₹3,082.53 crore has been allocated as assistance to the TGSRTC for the Mahalakshmi Scheme.
