App that uses AI to detect Parkinson's in minutes gets London trial

Parkinson's disease could be detected in minutes using a smartphone app powered by artificial intelligence as part of a new trial in London. The trial will take place at a private mental health clinic for around 40 patients using technology from UK start-up Medopad and Chinese technology giant Tencent. For instance, patients might be asked to perform hand movements in front of their phone's camera or complete basic reaction tests on their smartphones. An AI then analyses the results to help doctors diagnose patients that show symptoms of Parkinson's disease, or to help them monitor their condition.
