348 free buses for women operate in Salem district, says Minister

As many as 348 buses are operated in Salem district for free travel for women, said Minister for Tourism R. Rajendran on Sunday. Flagging off five new buses for women’s free travel at the Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi Nootrandu Managara Perunthu Nilaiyam in the presence of District Collector R. Brindha Devi and Mayor A. Ramachandran, the Minister said Chief Minister M.K. From the inauguration of free travel for women until now, in the Salem division of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, 41.24 crore free trips were availed of by women passengers. In the ghat routes buses, 20.21 lakh free trips were availed of by women passengers, the Minister added.
