
Keith Andrew Chambers charged over crash with e-bike that killed 9yo
ABCThe driver of a mini-van that allegedly mounted a kerb and hit a family riding their bikes on the footpath, killing a nine-year-old boy, has been charged with manslaughter. Police allege 47-year-old Keith Andrew Chambers was drunk and speeding when he lost control and crashed into the boy and his father, who were travelling on an electric bike in Robina in October. The tests found the driver allegedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.16, more than three times the legal driving limit, and was allegedly under the influence of prescription medication. Police have charged him with manslaughter, dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance whilst excessively speeding, and high-range drink driving.
