Event to showcase global robotics
Young visitors learn about a robot at an exhibition center in Haian, Jiangsu province. Addressing a news conference in Beijing on Monday, Wang said China's robotics industry has witnessed considerable growth despite challenges like a complicated and grim international environment and pressures from COVID-19 outbreaks. To further boost the innovative development of China's robotics industry, the 2022 World Robot Conference, the seventh since 2015, will be held in Beijing from Aug 18 to 21.More than 300 scientists as well as representatives from international organizations and companies from China and abroad will take part, said Chen Ying, vice-chairman of the Chinese Institute of Electronics. Peng Xuehai, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, said the robot conference has, over the years, effectively promoted the innovative development of China's robotics industry, making positive contributions to the construction of an open and inclusive global robotics system. This year's conference will feature the 2022 World Robot Contest Championship and release a report on the development of China's robotics industry.
