On Saturday, Trump announced that he would be holding a "big press conference" at "Four Seasons, Philadelphia". Many began comparing the odd image of Trump's team speaking from the small business' parking area to a deleted scene from Veep creator Armando iannucci's beloved sitcom focused on political spin doctor Malcolm Tucker. “As if to make The Thick of It look like a documentary, the Trump camp booked a press conference in the car park of the Four Seasons landscaping company instead of the Four Seasons Hotel,” one person said, adding: “And went ahead anyway, rather than admit it was a mistake.” Someone else wrote: "If this was an episode of The Thick of It we would think they’d gone too far." Elsewhere, Jim Carrey and Maya Rudolph – in character as Joe Biden and his vice president, Kamala Harris – celebrated the news, with Carrey resurrecting his Ace Ventura character to deliver a brutal message to “loser” Trump, while an “overjoyed” Alec Baldwin appeared as Trump one final time.
