The Victorian Government has announced all state school students will return to the classroom within the next four weeks, and Catholic and independent schools are expected to follow suit. "Year 10 students undertaking a VCE subject should be back at school on the 26th of May and all special schools will be open on the 26th of May for all students," he said. He said it was "not sustainable" for schools to continue providing remote learning for those who chose to stay at home. "We can't have a situation where we've got tens of thousands of students at home and expect teachers to provide not only face-to-face teaching at school but also flexible and remote learning for those kids." "The advice is that if you're under 65 and you don't have any underlying health issues as an individual then it's safe for you to return to school for face-to-face teaching."
